    September 4, 2014 Minutes
    14 present
    Minutes from 6/5/14 approved
    Treasures Report
    > $1400 was spent on new signs (includes Canal Town Trails)
    > Need to look at the current credit cards and get the names changed where appropriate.
    > Need to look at getting fuel cards for all 4 groomers so that the credit cards dont have to be tracked down when it comes time to refuel the groomers.
    Trails
    > NYS Parks has changed all trail numbers and junctions. New numbers wont be out until late September
    > Going to have a few 55MPH speed limit signs made for reminders of NYS maximum snowmobile trail speed limit.
    > Maps will be remade with new numbers and junctions once available. We will keep a digital PDF free on the web page. We are also going to design laminated copy at all junctions with a you are here indication. Mockups of the sign will be brought to the next meeting. We will not be mailing out maps. This will save about $3800+. We will discuss printing a few to be available at some of our sponsored stops.
    > There are going to be quite a few trail reroutes as some of the orchards had to put up deer fences. More details will be available as we start signing.
    > Red Creek to Savannah and a trail to Port Bay will be signed this year.
    > There is also interest in extending the trail (old 55 at the junction of old S48) to continue along the canal trail to Lyons and through on to Newark to connect to Canal towns southern trails.
    > We will need these and the proposed Bay Bridge to 104 reroute GPSd.
    > With all the trails that need signing we are asking for volunteers to take ownership of trail sections to be sure that they are properly signed. We need more than usual 4 to 8 volunteers.
    >Need to finish the reroute of old 41 from the Elks club in Wolcott to 104 to avoid the railroad tracks in the village.
    >Permit is running out to place a culvert in the ditch at 104/104A by the 104 Store, and in the stream bed on Lake Bluff road just north of the 104/414 Park & Ride.
    Groomers
    > Check on the cost of additional GPS units to track all the groomers.
    > LMC has had most of the maintenance completed at the end of the season in March. The 2 rear drive cogs are worn and need to be removed so that they can be sent out to be rebuilt for approximately $400 each. The drag has a few minor cracks that need welding.
    > The New Holland has 12 broken cleats. Approximately $588 is needed to repair them and add heat treated hard weld. Loose wires are being cleaned up and possibly need to rear drive tires. There is also a broken window that needs replacing.
    > Selling the New Holland: Maintenance and cleanup to make is more sellable. Once cleaned up we will look at advertising it in October. We will use it while it is up for sale.
     Canal town merger
    > Merger is almost complete. Finances and a bit more paperwork transfer still needs to be completed
    > Rough estimate of finances is approximately $20000
    > 2 Ram steer groomers
    > 35 miles of trails
     501 3c status
    > Continuing the paperwork for new corporation to form new club Lakeshore Riders as a non-profit organization.
     Groomer Grant
    > Grant writer has been contacted so that we can get our application in by the April 2015 deadline
    > Once application is filed we need volunteer legwork to get signed letters from businesses on the benifical impact of a groomed snowmobile trail to help expand the economy of the local area.
     Club house
    > Work to cut hill down more and bring in additional gravel and compact it so that construction can begin.
    > DOT has approved to cut the hill to lower the approach of the driveway entrance.
    > Going to sell the unused culvert pipes that were going to be used to span Mud creek.
    > Need to spend $5000 to finish the site work so that the shell can get started by the spring or even sooner.
